About us

Pleasure Project is a curatorial initiative that creates exhibitions centred on queer women and gender diverse people.

Pleasure Project was founded in Naarm (Melbourne) in 2021 by queer curators Tor Evans and Madeline Ferme in response to the lack of visibility of queer women and gender diverse people across the art world. Staging our inaugural self-titled exhibition in 2022, our exhibitions feature local and international artists working across mediums and explore themes that highlight the lived experiences and perspectives of queer women and gender diverse people. We are committed to curating from a queer intersectional lens, amplifying diverse voices from queer and trans communities through exhibitions, programs and events.

A key aspect of Pleasure Project’s work is supporting emerging LGBTIQA+ artists, covering all exhibition expenses and not taking commission on gallery sales. Pleasure Project further brings queer women and gender diverse communities together through free and inclusive exhibitions that are genuinely reflective of our lived experiences.

Support us through GiveOUT Day

Help us continue to platform queer and trans artists in our 2025 exhibition program, providing free exhibitions and events for LGBTIQA+ audiences.
